Pola Sinkronisasi Pelepasan dan Serapan Nitrogen dari Campuran Bahan Organik Berbeda Kualitas

Penelitian dilakukan dengan tujuan mengetahui pola sinkronisasi unsur nitrogen dari campuran bahan organik gulma air kayu apu (Pistia stratiotes=PS) dan jerami padi (JP) dan efesiensi unsur nitrogen tanaman jagung. Campuran pupuk organik yang berasal dari PS dan JP dicampur dengan berbagai komposisi berbeda dengan tujuan mendapatkan komposisi campuran yang paling bagus. Campuran pupuk organik sebelum diaplikasikan dikomposkan terlebih dahulu selama kurang lebih 2 minggu dan dianalisis kualitasnya, selanjutnya diaplikasikan pada  3 tahap percobaan, yaitu : (1) Pengomposan campuran PS:JP, (2) Percobaan inkubasi tidak tercuci (3) Percobaan pot dengan tanaman jagung di green house selama 1 siklus tanam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya masukan PS dalam campuran bahan organik makin meningkatkan kualitas campuran. Adanya PS yang dicampur dengan JP sudah dapat menurunkan kandungan lignin JP sebesar 33 % - 55%,  kandungan polifenol menurun 8% - 72% dan C/N rasio menurun sebesar 7% - 31%. Persentase recovery N meningkat dengan makin meningkatnya kandungan PS dalam campuran, Kadar N dalam campuran lebih tinggi berkorelasi dengan % recovery N dibanding dengan parameter kualitas yang lain. Serapan N, persentase  recovery N dan efesiensi penggunaan N tertinggi terdapat pada perlakuan 100% PS selanjutnya menurun dengan makin berkurangnya campuran PS. Peningkatan Serapan N total dibanding kontrol pada R1 (100PS:0JP) sebesar 33,28%, R2 (75PS:25JP) 26,21%, R3 (50PS:50JP) 13,14%, R4 (25PS:75JP) 32,76%, R5(0PS:100JP) 20,36% dan urea hanya sebesar 29,71%.
